Jungle Scout Sales Estimator Review 2024: It’s Not Worth It

Jungle Scout Sales Estimator Review Rating: 1.0/5

Whether you’re looking to launch or relaunch a product on Amazon, you need to know the sales potential of that product before launching.

This will not only help you make informed launching decisions but will also assist you in identifying areas to beat the competition.

And that’s what an Amazon estimator helps you achieve.

The Jungle Scout estimator is one of the free Amazon sales estimators out there.

How does this tool work? How accurate is it? What are Jungle Scout estimator alternatives?

In this review, I provide all you need to know about the Jungle Scout Amazon estimator including how it compares.

What is Jungle Sales Scout Estimator?

Jungle Scout sales estimator is a tool that helps you estimate the number of sales per month of a given product category in a particular marketplace.

The estimator takes the guesswork out of the way and provides you with real-time insights on sales volumes of products based on their performance on Amazon.

Powered by AccuSales™, the Jungle Scout estimator provides the most estimation of the average sales of products on Amazon.

While Amazon used to publish sales estimates of some products, most of the products don’t have estimates.

As such, you need to use a sales estimator such as the one offered by Jungle Scout to get proper insights into the sales potential of your product.

How Do You Use a Jungle Scout Estimator?

The Jungle Scout estimator is one of the easiest Amazon sales estimators out there, leading to my 5/5 rating on ease of use.

All you need to do to use the tool is to visit the Jungle Scout estimator page and follow the steps below:

Step 1: Enter the Best Seller Rank (BSR)

The best seller rank is a number that appears on the page of each item on Amazon, indicating how the item is selling compared to other items in its product category.

Lower BSR indicates higher sales on Amazon while higher BSR indicates low sales. For example, if an item under the Electronics category has #2 BSR, it means the item is the second best-selling under Electronics listings on Amazon.

To find the BSR of a particular item, all you need is to navigate to the Production information section at the bottom of the item on Amazon.

If you’re an existing Amazon seller, you can also find the BSRs on Business Reports when you click on “Reports” under Seller Central.

Step 2: Choose the Amazon Marketplace

The second step is to select the marketplace where you sell your product. This could be Canada, US, UK, France or any supported marketplace.

Step 3: Choose the Amazon Product Category

This is where you select or type the product category you want to get the sales volume estimate on Amazon. This could be clothing, kitchen, electronics, utilities, dining, toys.

Step 4: Click on the Estimate sales button

Finally, click on the Estimate sales button after filling in all the foregoing boxes. The number of sales estimates will appear at the top of the page, just before the first step.

Example of How Jungle Scout Estimator Works

Let’s assume you want to find the estimate of sales of an electronics item ranking number 1 in Canada, the following steps will apply:

As you can see, the item has an average of 11,970 estimated number of sales per month.

Since the results reflect the real-time performance of Amazon products, you should expect a variance in the estimate per item from time to time.

That means that the estimated figures for this example may not be the same by the time you test it yourself.

Update

I don’t longer recommend using Jungle Scout as they have proved to be an untrustworthy business after I published this review. Join them at your own risk.

Is Jungle Scout Estimator Accurate?

Short answer, no! Jungle Scout claims that its estimator is 84.1% accurate but an in-depth comparison of the estimator results with the estimates of Amazon Business Reports show that the Amazon estimator is not reliable..

To get a more reliable estimate, you should check the Amazon Business Reports under your Amazon account or use the Helium 10 estimator.

One mistake you want to avoid is to make decisions using a single source of information.

To get the best estimate, you should also consider using tools such as the Helium 10 Chrome extension that elps you identify product ideas, and evaluate their potential.

The right plan for you will depend on your budget and estimate requirements per month.

Overall, my Jungle Scout Amazon estimator review is negative and non-recommendable to those looking for accurate estimates of the number of product sales on Amazon.

Jungle Scout Estimator vs Helium 10 Estimator

Helium 10 is one of the top competitors of Jungle Scout that’s also based in the US.

The two companies compete on different grounds but I will limit my comparison to their estimator tool.

Helium 10 outshines Jungle Scout on almost all comparison grounds except for number of free trials.

Helium 10 has four data points which identify the number of information you’re required to enter to get a sales estimate against the 3 entry points of Jungle Scout.

As a result, the Helium 10 Amazon sales estimator is more accurate than Jungle Scout estimator as it measures many factors.

Overall, Helium 10 is better than Jungle Scout. But since both companies offer access to free daily estimate checks, you can try the two to confirm which is more reliable.
